Abhilasha
A Mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Since
2008
Established in 2008, Abhilasha is a publishing house and a bookseller serving
individuals and libraries. We export books by
Mail and have a bookstore at Electronics City
Bangalore.
Abhilasha initially sold only rare and out of print
publications, but soon branched out into local sale/export of new books
published in India, and then publishing of scholarly works under its own
imprint.
Abhilasha has the following main activities:
Publishing: The publishing
activities are handled by Abhilasha Publishers & Distributors who are known
for quality scholarly publications in the field of social sciences, with a
focus on India. Over the years, apart from publishing well known Indian and foreign
authors, Abhilasha has co-published with many prestigious institutions in
India. We publish 40-45 original titles every year.
Exports: In
addition to our own publications, Abhilasha supplies publications from
different Indian publishers on a wide variety of subjects to large number
overseas buyers -- trade, libraries and individual scholars.
Bookstore: Our
spacious air conditioned showroom at 49-5 Krishna Reddy Layout Electronics City
Bangalore attracts a large number of scholars -- both Indian and foreign.
(Indeed, it often serves as a place for scholars from different countries to
meet each other). We have on our shelves more than 1000 current and
out-of-print titles and select back-files of scholarly journals. We have an
extensive stock of books published abroad, including from neighboring
countries. Scholars are welcome to visit and browse through books of their
interest.
Supplies to Libraries in India: We are a
regular supplier of scholarly/academic books to libraries/ institutions in
India. Purchase orders/want lists from institutions are welcome.
